Getting back to training UPDATED!

For the past week I’ve been feeling like a big slug! This morning I went for a run… 10.3 miles in 1:21.11 that’s 7:52 pace… not bad for a slug!

Tomorrow I’m going for a 60-mile ride…

Update on the ride:

I got lost! This was only the second time I’ve taken this route and I got lost… again! My planned 60 mile ride turned out to be 51 miles but I averaged 19+ Mph so I’m happy with that.

Funny thing...

I was riding down a back road, not a single house for miles when I started to feel the urge to relieve myself. I pulled over to the side of the road and headed into the woods to take care of business. In the middle of taking care of business I noticed a little mosquito had landed on my leg, I brushed him away. This must have made him mad because he brought back friends… lots of them. The next thing I know I’m being swarmed by dozens of little biting mosquitoes. I started running for the road… I wasn’t finished yet! I managed to complete the task at hand, clip in my pedals and hit the road with only suffering a couple bites!

Lessons learned…
1. Don’t Pee in the woods during peak mosquito season.
2. I can run the Pee at the same time!Mosquito bites itch!

Thanks, after the week I've had those times were not that bad.

To tell you the truth, I didn't think I'd be ready to do IMLP 2008. It's full now anyways!

OK, I shohuld ave read this post first. Geez, you are back! Great run!

That IS a funny story. I am mildly allergic some to mosquito bites so I stay on the bike and pee (haha -- kidding-- I coudln;t resist)

Hey there is a tri Sept 30th (google max performance) in Buzzards Bay. I am considering it (would need to conquer my fear of potentially swimming into Jelly fish and would also need to race the weekend after Reach the Beach)but just wanted to throw the info out there....My guess is that it would be the last local tri of the season at Sept 30....

Hey... that's great. The more cheers the better... I'm going to need them! It will be so cool to see some fellow bloggers!

I looked up that Tri in Buzzards Bay, I'm planning on doing it. I ride parts of the bike course every week during training. It's a beautiful area!
No need to worry about the Jellies, they don't bite much!
